Description
Jim studied Agriculture at Melbourne University where he first fell in love with wine. He started his career in viticulture, managing vineyards in the Yarra Valley where he joined Domaine Chandon Australia as Vineyard Manager in 2005. Jim moved to Cape Mentelle in Margaret River as Viticulturist in 2007.
Jim was appointed as Viticulturist at Cloudy Bay Vineyards in New Zealand in 2011 and was promoted to Technical Director in 2018 overseeing 600ha of company vineyards, and winemaking operations of the 7000t winery.
Jim has been involved in sustainability programs in the wine industry since 2005, promoting sustainable viticulture within regional wine industry bodies in both Australia and New Zealand.
