Description
Bernard Giraud is president and co-founder of Livelihoods Venture, a social enterprise that manages a set of investment funds (€345 million) created in partnership with major French and international companies. Livelihoods funds invest in sustainable family farming, agroforestry, regeneration of natural ecosystems and energy efficiency with high social and environmental value for producers and rural communities. Since 2011, Livelihoods funds have helped to improve the living conditions of more than one million people, plant 150 million trees and restore thousands of hectares. Livelihoods is currently working on the creation of Re-Generations, a platform to support farmers who are involved in the agro-ecological transition in France.
Previously, Bernard was Director of Sustainable Development and Shared Value Creation at Danone. He played a key role in Danone's transformation as a pioneer in social innovation by integrating social responsibility and sustainable development into the company's strategy and practices.
