Romain Le Guillou
Veuve Clicquot
Vineyard Director
Description
Romain LE GUILLOU was born in 1983 in Brest (Brittany), where he spent his early childhood, before moving to La Rochelle. He grew up in a family keen on sport, outdoor activities, cooking and gastronomy.
Romain discovered the art of the vineyard and winemaking as a student of agricultural engineering in Montpellier. With his lifelong love of nature, he decided to turn this nascent passion into his profession.
Romain graduated as an agricultural engineer and oenologist in 2007 and started his career in the Beaujolais region as an adviser on viticulture and oenology to the region’s winemakers.
At the end of 2010, he joined Maison Veuve Clicquot, where he pilots the technical development policy of the vineyard. In particular, he has made environmental concerns a major objective in the progression of the viticultural practices applied to the vineyard.
Romain became Vineyard Director at the beginning of 2017, and since early 2020 he has also been Procurement Director.
As Vineyard and Procurement Director of Maison Veuve Clicquot, Romain Le Guillou is in charge of ensuring the vineyard management and directing the house’s teams, with the aim of producing grapes of the very highest quality, reflecting their terroirs, while preserving the environment and the health of our winemakers. He also works with all the Partner winemakers who supply grapes to the house.
