Soil health depends on the vitality of the food chain in the soil’s microbiome. By delivering live, native microalgae into the soil on a continuous basis, MyLand feeds the whole ecosystem, rebuilding a diverse and healthy microbial community from the base of the food chain, and impacts the chemical, physical, and biological makeup of soil in positive ways. Microalgae is one of the fastest growing organisms on the planet, as it can double in size daily and can account for approximately 60% of the oxygen production on Earth. Utilizing a proprietary selection process for each farm, MyLand extracts live, native algae directly from a farm’s soil, rapidly reproduces the microalgae in mass quantities on site and delivers them back into the soil in living form where they continue to reproduce within the soil, stimulating and feeding the soil’s microbial community, creating the foundation for a healthy soil ecosystem. This continuous delivery provides a compounding source of rich living organics, nutrients, carbonic acid and polysaccharides that rapidly increases soil organic matter and results in increased porosity and soil aggregation, improved water holding capacity, reduced water use, increased nutrient solubility and efficiency, reduced fertilizer use and more resilient crops.
Solution
MyLand is a soil health company at the forefront of simple, scalable regenerative agriculture. The company pairs it’s breakthrough in soil science with a simple application for the farmer. MyLand’s unique Soil-as-as-Service (“SaaS”) model is designed to make adoption easy for the farmer. There is no upfront cost and no equipment to own or operate. The farmer pays a simple monthly subscription fee and MyLand becomes integrated on the farm, allowing the farmer to implement regenerative agriculture practices on their farm simply and at scale. MyLand installs an innovative, technology-based system on the farm which they own and operate remotely, with a routine on-site maintenance program. These systems produce and deliver Iive native microalgae into the soil through the farm’s irrigation system, with each system covering a service area of up to 1,000 acres with systems and configurations designed to meet the needs of the specific farm operations. This service offers exceptional flexibility to the grower, allowing the farmer to transition to regenerative agriculture much more rapidly with a rapid payback period.

The company is already working with vineyards and tree nuts and citrus in California, as well as various other high value crops. They have an installed base in excess of 20 systems, covering over 4,000 acres with growers representing in excess of 300,000 irrigated acres of farmland.
