Frédéric Dufour

Maison Ruinart

Président

Description

Frédéric Dufour graduated in engineering from ENSTA and then obtained a master’s degree in international finance from HEC Paris. He joined Moët Hennessy in 1996, initially in the Asia-Pacific region and then as CEO of Moët Hennessy Diageo Hong Kong in 2001. On returning to France in 2005, he took on the role of Director, Brand Unit Marque Moët & Chandon and then International Director at Veuve Clicquot. In September 2011, Frédéric Dufour took over leadership of Maison Ruinart. Since then, he has implemented his unique vision for Ruinart as a contemporary and conscious jewel in the world of champagne. Thus, perpetuating the Maison’s enlightened spirit and sustainable, committed values. Frédéric Dufour is convinced that, as a Maison embodying the notions of “enlightenment” and connection since its foundation, Ruinart must actively contribute to fighting climate change - all the more so because the excellence of its wines is intimately linked to nature. Through his impetus, the Maison unveiled the disruptive, eco-designed second skin case in 2020. This innovation is revolutionising traditional packaging for champagne, as well as in the entire luxury sector. It is 100% paper,100% recyclable and 9 times lighter, which reduces greenhouse emissions by 60% compared to the previous generation of gift boxes. In 2021, Ruinart launched a pilot biodiversity project across the historic 40-hectare Taissy vineyard on the Montagne de Reims with a dual objective: become a driving force for biodiversity in the Champagne region and commit to reforestation efforts around the globe.
