Technical & Managerial Vineyards Director

Description

An agricultural engineer by training, I worked for 15 years as director of agricultural and forestry policies for the Grand Est Region. I joined the LVMH group in 2017 as director of the vineyards of the Moët et Chandon and Ruinart Houses. The House vineyards represent nearly 1,300 hectares of vines over the entire Champagne appellation. 580 people work most of the year to manage the vines, which are doubly certified as sustainable viticulture in Champagne (and HVE). This vineyard represents 20% of the supply of the Houses, it is very qualitative and its vocation is to supply all the premium needs. From a technical point of view, the vineyard has been managed without chemical herbicides for two seasons. The choices we make always favour the protection of the environment and our terroirs. We have halved our consumption of phytosanitary inputs over the last 10 years and we are accelerating the use of biocontrols. Our next levers for progress now revolve around agronomy, plant material, the restoration of biodiversity and the reduction of carbon emissions.
